A Classical Hybrid Homeschool Academy
“Gather the children in this wild country and teach them what they need to know for their salvation.”
Our Lady of Champion Academy provides families with a Catholic, classical education hybrid model that acknowledges parents as the primary educators of their children, and also that children can greatly benefit from experience in an ordered classroom of their peers. We are committed to teaching in the time-honored tradition of Catholic, classical education in order to form the hearts and minds of our students.

Content
In a Catholic, classical school, we form young hearts, minds, and souls by all that is seen, heard, and read. By attending to what is true, good, and beautiful, we enliven students’ moral imaginations through story, endow them with a memory of their Catholic heritage, inspire them with an awareness of the presence of God, the angels, and the saints, and lead them to see that they have a role to play in the unfolding Story of Salvation.
Skills
The liberal arts of classical antiquity are comprised of the skills of language (Trivium) and number (Quadrivium). By following the natural ladders of learning in a step-wise fashion in each subject, a classical education carefully trains students and orders their minds, the gifts of which are life-long tools for reading insightfully, speaking eloquently, thinking logically, and writing beautifully.
Pedagogy
How we educate children flows from our Catholic understanding of the human person and the nature of the content and skills that are taught. Having a keen eye towards how students learn joyfully, Catholic, classical teachers present types and models for students to imitate, guide students to seek pearls of wisdom in the stories they hear and read, and lead students to the discovery of connections and patterns in lessons where the content and skills are integrated. Ultimately, the teacher’s goal is that students will pursue truth by clear thinking, goodness by imitating virtue, and beauty by the habits of attention, observation, and contemplation.
